ASIA PACIFIC REGION

Short History

During the WAGGGS World Conference held in Edinburgh in 2011, contacts began with the WAGGGS Executive in charge of the region, in order to raise awareness of the work of the CICG. A further meeting was held in London in 2012.

In July 2012, Victoria Cuartas, them Western Hemisphere Region Executive, and Claire de Boc, assistant to the ICCG World Team, visited the Girl Guides Association of the Philippines and began to build links and communication. But it was not until further meetings at the WAGGGS Asia Pacific Regional Conference in 2013 and the WAGGGS World Conference in Hong Kong in 2014 that CICG training was planned with the support of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. At this meeting in December 2014, the leaders of the Association expressed their desire to become members of the CICG, which became a reality at the CICG World Council in Rome in 2015.

We are still working for the growth and conformation of the Region, contacting the Associations in the area.
